Position Title: Upper School I&S Teacher (DP Business Management and/or Economics)
Contract Length: 1 year

Reports to: Upper School Division Principal
Receives Guidance From: Upper School Assistant Principal; Upper School Grade Level Leads, Department Chairs, MYP/DP/CP Coordinators (as appropriate)
Essential Duties:
- Students
- Establish and maintain a strong connection with Upper School students
- Work to develop an inspiring instructional experience for students
- Strive to create an experiential and inquiry-focused learning environment for students
- Supports efforts to promote diversity, equity and inclusion throughout the Upper School
- Serve as an advisor to a small group of students
- Adhere to the Advisory Handbook guidelines and protocols
- Keep a regular line of communication open with parents/teachers/advisees
- Teach 5 sections in your subject area
- Meet regularly with Program Coordinators/Department Chair to update curriculum units on Managebac
- Ensure regular updates on Managebac for parents/students at least every two weeks
- Co-plan interdisciplinary units with Curriculum/department teachers/grade level teachers
- Participate in all Meetings (subject, department, divisional, grade-level, all school)
- Support SST process
- Follow protocol for “Student Check-in” and SST Referral process
- Support Upper School duties as assigned
- Facilitate and support Upper School Clubs
- Remain available and provide supervision during Office Hours
- Support Outdoor Education Week
- All teachers are required to attend ONE Outdoor Education experience per year
- Participate in grade level activities and/or special events (e.g., G9 hike, G10 Bowling Party, G8/9 Transition Day, Service Day Outs, G8 Orientation to US, etc.)
- Participate in Grade-level or StuCo-led events/activities
- Attend Upper School Assemblies
- Support in the Administration and proctoring of our MAP assessments two times/year (grades 9-10)
- Hold office hours
- Serve as a Mentor Teacher to student teachers when asked by the Director of Professional Learning or Division Principal
- Participate in check-ins with Principal:
- Min TWO times a year

Qualifications
- Possesses a minimum of two years teaching experience
- Possesses a teacher certificate
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills
- Demonstrates strong written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrates personal integrity and professional ethics
- Strongly desire MYP/DP teaching experience
- Effective technology skills
